Sustainability

The oven is the largest energy consumer in the line.

Apus develops solutions that contribute to sustainable production targets, together with its supplier companies. It works towards a more sustainable future with technologies that lower energy consumption, reduce the carbon footprint and raise production efficiency.

Energy

Energy consumption is the main driver of a bakery's CO2 emissions, and the oven is the largest consumer in the line. An oven scan can quickly assess your oven's saving potential. To go deeper, an end to end assessment analyses the consumption of every piece of equipment, and the findings turn into recommendations ranging from behavioural changes to line modifications.

Food waste

One third of all the food produced for human consumption worldwide is lost or wasted, and sixty per cent of that is considered avoidable. Bread is one of the largest categories. Cutting waste lowers both direct emissions and indirect emissions at farm level, because the same bread then needs fewer ingredients. Scrap dough and leftover bread can be turned into sourdough and returned to the line.

Water

Water is a key ingredient in bread and its quality is decisive for a bakery. With climate change, water stress is growing: rainfall patterns shift, average temperatures rise, and access to good quality water becomes more expensive. Reducing water use in the process is on the agenda, with methods for cleaning bakeware without water in development.

About us

There is engineering behind your production.

Apus looks at food production as a whole. From capacity to process, from equipment selection to automation, we analyse every detail and develop production systems that fit your plant.

Every project is different

We build a production setup around your product, your capacity and the conditions in your plant.

One point of responsibility

Design, equipment selection, installation, commissioning and after-sales support are parts of the same engineering approach.

We design for what comes next

Lower energy use, more efficient use of resources and long-lived production systems are the core criteria in how we design.

Projects

With you at every scale of production.

From boutique production to high-capacity industrial plants.

Lines we have installed

Every line takes shape around the needs of your production.

A few of the projects we developed for a specific product, capacity and plant.

8.000pieces/hour
Royal Kaak

Fully automatic toast bread line

Full automation from dough preparation to slicing. Uninterrupted, efficient production with minimal operator intervention.

600kg/hour
NFF Janssen

Organic biscuit production

Moulded roller forming gives a flawless result with organic and gluten-free doughs too. Moulds made for each product give every item the producer's own signature.

700kg/hour
Italpast

Organic pasta production

Vacuum extrusion with electronic speed control. Lines that run on organic and gluten-free flours, adaptable from laboratory scale to industrial capacity.

10.000kg/hour
VMI

High capacity automatic dough mixing

Raise your capacity with a removable bowl system. One bowl rests while the other is kneaded, so the line never waits and production capacity continues without a break.

FAQ

What to know before you ask for a quote.

Can I buy a single machine, or do you only offer complete lines?
Both are possible. Depending on your needs you can start with a single machine or build a complete line from mixing to packing. We also offer solutions in between, according to your production capacity.
Can I add a new machine to the line I already have?
Yes. Machines are chosen so they fit without rearranging the line you already have. Adding a rounder or a slicer does not mean rebuilding it.
Who builds the machines?
We offer our machines together with manufacturers who are specialists in their field: Royal Kaak (Netherlands), DIOSNA (Germany), VMI (France), NFF Janssen (Germany), Italpast (Italy), Ferneto (Portugal), DM Pack (Italy) and HOBA (Netherlands). At every stage the specialist in that field works on the line, while Apus remains your single point of responsibility and contact.
Which production scale suits me?
We offer three production scales. At small scale you can start with a single machine; at semi-industrial scale you can grow the line you have step by step. At industrial scale you reach high capacity with full automation and uninterrupted production.
Do you have solutions suitable for gluten-free or vegan products?
Yes. We offer gluten-free pasta lines, biscuit moulds that work with gluten-free and organic doughs, and gluten-free pastry lines. Vegan and gluten-free doughs can also be processed on our frying lines.
Can I run a trial with my own product before buying?
Trials at laboratory scale are possible. Laboratory mixers and test machines are used to check the raw material and the recipe in small batches, which prevents building the wrong production line. With gluten-free and legume flours in particular, results shift as the raw material shifts, so testing first is a real advantage.
How do your service, maintenance and spare parts support work?
Service in Turkey, manufacturing in Europe. When you need us you reach our team in Turkey directly. We supply the consumables and the spare parts too; we are with you throughout, from blades to clipband.
How are pricing and delivery determined?
The price is set by the product, the hourly capacity and the level of automation. Delivery time depends on the machine and the configuration; both are stated clearly in our quote. Telling us what you produce and your target capacity is enough for us to work out the right solution for you.
